Session Spotlight: Geopolitics and Energy Markets

As events in Venezuela unfold in real time, the implications for global energy markets can shift quickly. This session offers a rare chance to get a high-level perspective while the situation is still developing: Daniel Yergin (S&P Global), moderated by Elaine Buckberg (Harvard University), will translate the latest developments into what they may mean for global supply dynamics, pricing, and the broader macro picture. They'll bring their expert lens to the indicators economists should track as the situation evolves.
Geopolitics and trade were top of mind for the organizing committee and session planners of this year’s policy conference.
Other panels topics include:
- Has There Been a Regime Change in the Global Geoeconomic Order?
- From Minerals to Microchips: Navigating Global Risks in U.S. Production

- Reserve Currency in Jeopardy?
- Industrial Policy and Economic Security: Confronting the China Challenge
