Program hours for the Mindful Summer Program are from 9am-3pm. Children bring their own lunch and are provided a healthy snack. Children ages 6-11 are welcome to enroll. Families can apply to enroll children in the program using the link below. Tuition for this Mindfulness summer program is $150 per week, per child, with full and partial scholarships available. This is a non-religious program focused on teaching mindfulness that is open to all children regardless of religious/spiritual background.
A sample day for children includes an opportunity to engage age-appropriately in varied forms of mindfulness, including discovering nature, making music, art, crafting, theater, and creative forms of mindfulness. Staff and guest presenters share mindful practices such as movement yoga, mindful walking, mindfulness of feelings and emotions, and storytelling. Children are taught mindfulness tools for how to hold peace in challenging or frightening situations. And of course, there are ample opportunities throughout the day for mindful games, fun, and play!
If you have any questions, please contact Program Director Rachel Downs (rachel@agapewaltham.org) or Outreach Director Tara Whitehurst (tara@agapewaltham.org) - either would be happy to speak with you.
The opportunities listed are not sponsored by Brandeis University as they come directly from community partners or external entities. Responsibility for participation in any of the below opportunities, including further exploring additional information to be fully informed about each experience, rests with each potential participant.
