Mission
Adagio is the largest student-run dance group at Brandeis, open to students of ALL dance backgrounds and levels. We offer classes, as well as performance and choreography opportunities in styles include jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical and modern. Some performance opportunities include our annual Fall and Spring Shows. All of our dances are student choreographed! All of our performance opportunities are open to anyone who wants to take part. We do not hold auditions for dancers to be in Adagio shows, although we do hold placements. Everyone who desires to perform is placed in at least one dance!

Mission
The goal of Advocates for Health is to help connect Brandeis students with health-related volunteer opportunities in order to minimize healthcare disparities within the Greater Boston Community. Students can volunteer with CareOne–a skilled nursing facility in Newton–where they can support residents and improve the patient experience by planning activities and interacting directly with patients. Project Sunshine is another avenue to service in healthcare in which volunteers can create care packages and cards to send to children at local hospitals. They can also volunteer with Healthy Waltham, a local nonprofit, to improve food access to underserved populations in Waltham. Advocates for Health also offers volunteer opportunities with The Family Van, a mobile clinic that performs health screenings for underrepresented populations. As the program grows, we hope to engage more volunteers with healthcare-related services.

The Afternoon Enrichment program aims to encourage middle school students to develop strong relationships with their Brandeis mentors and with students from the other middle school in Waltham. Students are able to work on their social-emotional skills through consistent peer and mentor engagement. Afternoon Enrichment gives the students an insight into college life and shows that college is a possibility for them, as well. Our program prioritizes on meeting the social, emotional and educational needs of historically marginalized groups within the local school system while providing a safe space for students to learn and engage with one another.

The Alexander Hamilton Society at Brandeis is dedicated to creating a serious, non partisan forum for the study of foreign policy, national security, and global economic strategy. We bring leading scholars and practitioners to campus and provide students with a space for thoughtful discussion, debate, and analysis of the issues shaping America’s role in the world

We are Asian Baptist Student Koinonia, a Christian fellowship at Brandeis composed of students who seek to know and love Jesus Christ through a life shared with Him and each other. Through Bible studies, fun fellowship and activities, lots of food, and real friendships, we learn more about God, one another, and ourselves.

All are welcome to join us, whether you are looking for a spiritual home away from home or are wondering what this Christianity thing is all about. College is a busy place, and sometimes you might need somewhere to come as you are, find a listening ear and encouragement, be challenged, and discuss life's big questions.

The group is not limited to Asians, Baptists, or people who know what Koinonia means (but FYI, it means fellowship in Greek). Other Boston-area universities with ABSKs include Harvard, Wellesley, MIT, Boston University, and Boston College.

The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) is the largest U.S. professional association building Latino business leaders. The organization, however, is OPEN FOR ANY STUDENT to take benefit from its events and extensive network. Being a member allows you attend local and national ALPFA events and expand your opportunities through professional development programs, networking with top business leaders, scholarship programs, career fairs, social events, seminars, case competitions and more.

The Brandeis International Business School Chapter of ALPFA works to promote cultural awareness of Latin culture while offering a network for students regarding professional and academic opportunities in finance. It is the largest student chapter in the northeast region. The International Business School's group won the ALPFA Student Chapter of the Year Award at the 2012 National Convention. The business school's ALPFA chapter works closely with the Career Strategies Center, which helps its members become more aware of the career activities at the school.

The purpose of the Astronomy Club is to advance the awareness of the cosmos, optical observation of outer space, and collection of local weather data on the Brandeis campus. The club hosts group star and celestial gazing on telescopes, astronomy lectures, and astronomy related events associated with the Physics Department. We promote documentation of space through astrography using the 24” Cassegrain primary telescope and the 8” Celestron finderscope. The aim of the Astronomy Club is as a conduit for the Brandeis community’s maximal use of the observatory and telescope while maintaining the observatory and specialized equipment housed there.

The Big Siblings one-on-one mentoring program through Big Brother Big Sister of Massachusetts Bay is offered to children in first through fifth grade. Children are matched with a Brandeis student who shares common activities and quality time together ranging from playing sports, doing homework, or attending special events at Brandeis for a mutually decided time of one hour a week. This program has expanded to include a partnership with Sibling Connections, an organization that seeks to reunite biological siblings separated by the foster care system.

American Red Cross blood drives are held on campus annaully typically around the months of October, February, and April with assistance from student volunteers. Blood collected at these drives saves an average of 1,000 lives annually. Donors and volunteers are needed for the drives. Volunteers help advertise; recruit student, faculty and staff donors for the drives; and assist during the drives to ensure that they run safely.

Branda (the Club) exists for two purposes. The first is to develop and maintain Branda (the App), which provides essential services such as shuttle tracking, campus hours, and laundry tracking to the Brandeis community. This includes developing the App as well as the background services and systems necessary for the App’s functionality.
The second is to develop the skills and knowledge of the Club members. Branda uses a modern, industry-standard technology stack that provides real-world experience at every step of the development process not only to those with technical interest, but also those interested in marketing, business, and communication. Members of the Club have used this experience to earn internships at companies like IBM, Putnam Investments, and General Dynamics Mission Systems.

BASO seeks to culturally empower African students and the student body at large to become socially, politically, and critically aware of African Cultures. Our goal is to enter the complexities of Africa as a continent by looking at the diversity of each country and understanding these diversities through a sociopolitical and sociocultural lens.
Through the use of discussions among members, intercultural events, and interactive workshops, myths can be dispelled, and dynamic understandings will be revealed. Africa is not just Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Congo, Rwanda, Nigeria, or Mali; numerous countries constitute her very essence. Despite the overarching goal, even if this club leaves some with only a glimpse of Africa- the food, the music, a language-at least students will have gotten a salient and actual insight into a continent of many but a place of one.

The Brandeis Animajors Club For All (BACA) is a student run organization that operates with the intention of connecting the community of Anime enjoyers at Brandeis as well as introducing the genre of anime to all those who show interest. Anime is Japanese animation and is a genre that has found huge success and appreciation worldwide in the past decades. The purpose of BACA is to create a forum for shared appreciation and viewing of anime here in the Brandeis community that is open to all, and democratically run. BACA also aims to dispel the stigmas and negative connotations of people who watch anime through building a safe space for anime appreciation. The Brandeis Anime Club aims to build a stronger community at Brandeis University through a shared love of anime, culture, and film.

Established in 1971 at the onset of anti-Asian sentiment, the Brandeis Asian American Students Association (BAASA) felt the need to create a safe place for Asians and Asian Americans to freely voice their opinions and concerns. Though some of the same struggles exist today, the founding members laid the foundation for social and political activism for future generations.
As BAASA grows, we continue to promote activism and awareness to the Brandeis community and beyond. Our activities and programs are focused upon the involvement in Brandeis Academics, development of student leadership and collaborative efforts with other organizations. We seek to bridge and share our cultures with each other and the Brandeis community, and to educate others and ourselves about current issues dealing with race and politics. Through the implementation of our activities and programs, we uphold standards of the Brandeis community by promoting the universal acceptance and understanding of all peoples.

Aspiring Educators is a national organization that recruits and retains undergraduate students in education. At Brandeis, we continue promoting and encouraging interest in young adults interested in teaching. Brandeis's Aspiring Educators was created to reinforce the vision of creating and inspiring the next generation of teachers. We want to build support and community among those interested in the profession and those who have yet to find their inner teacher. This chapter will support current and prospective students pursuing teacher licensure at Brandeis. We will provide additional preparation for our members with professional development, community service events, and networking opportunities.

- Members of the club will have an opportunity to be exposed to professional development both from members of the club and the state of Massachusetts with our partnership with the NEA and MTA!

- Members will be able to meet other AE members from another campus, thus furthering their network.

The purpose of the Brandeis Aviation Club is to introduce students to the excitement and joy of flying by providing students with the means to experience flight firsthand.

The Club intends to achieve its purpose via two primary methods, as well as any other methods deemed suitable for the purpose of the club and within the rules and regulations of Brandeis University. The two primary methods are as follows: organizing trips for students to take flight lessons with certified flight instructors at a flight school at a local airport; and through the operation of a flight simulator.

The Club intends to serve as a resource to any student who wishes to pursue an interest in aviation.
