2024 Midyear Orientation

If you are interested in campus employment, you will want to attend this session where you will learn about where to look for jobs, how to apply and more.

This panel-style session will serve as a review of some of the various departments that provide health, safety and wellbeing support to students during their time at Brandeis. (Prevention, Advocacy, and Resource Center - PARC, Care Team, Dean of Students Office - DOSO, Office of Equal Opportunity - OEO, and the Brandeis Counseling Center - BCC).

The Department Expo is an opportunity for you to ask questions directly to staff from the various departments you learned about through your virtual Orientation modules. It also serves as a refresh of the different resources available to you at Brandeis.

This is an opportunity to visit members of different departments/student organizations in their spaces on campus. If there is an area you are interested in getting involved with/learning more about, this is a great opportunity to do so!

Questions about your academic path? Join staff from Academic Services for a session focused on your academic journey at Brandeis. This session is for students transferring in as a sophomore, junior or senior as well as Exchange students.

Join staff from our Office of Study Abroad, International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO), Hiatt Career Center and University Registrar who will lead a discussion on the skills you will bring with you as you enter Brandeis. Whether you've spent the fall semester studying abroad, working at a job or internship, taking courses at another institution or something else, you all are bringing something new to our community.

This session will provide transfer students with the opportunity to talk to current students about life at Brandeis.

Spend some time with your Orientation Leader and group members and participate in a new Midyear tradition!

The Orientation Leaders will help you start to navigate campus and locate your classrooms.

Take some time to recharge, grab dinner, explore campus ... whatever you want! The OL's will also be hosting an opportunity to learn some of the Jazzercise dances during this time if you want to continue to connect with people. Jazzercise is an OL tradition where a new dance is taught by the Core Team and performed at an evening event. We'd love to have you join us!

Bundle up and join us at the Light of Reason to experience a Brandeis tradition led by your Orientation Core Committee members.

Join your peers for night of glow-themed entertainment including blacklight ax throwing, blacklight 3-hole mini-golf, LED Connect Four, LED Chess, LED Tic-Tac-Toe, a blacklight photobooth and glow cotton candy!

New students move into their residence halls with the guidance of student leaders. Details regarding move-in will be emailed to students.

Vice President of Student Affairs Andrea Dine and the Orientation Core Committee members will welcome you to the Brandeis community at this opening session.

Meet with your Orientation Leader and fellow group members to review the Orientation schedule, get to know your fellow students and ask any questions you may have!

This a block of time to finish setting up your room, take a nap, explore campus, whatever you want it to be! The OL's will also be hosting speed friending if you want to continue to connect with new friends!

Join your OL and Orientation group for dinner in the dining hall.

Swing by to enjoy some activities that will take you back to your childhood! Giant Operation, Giant Snakes (Chutes) and Ladders, Build your own stuffed animal, create some sand art, make a tie dye t-shirt, resin keychain or photo frame, have photos taken in front of the green screen, enjoy some snacks and socialize in a relaxed environment.
