Brandeis Innovation is a focal point for innovators and aspiring change-makers in the Brandeis community. Our mission is to put Brandeis values and ideas to work in the world, by providing a platform for innovations created at Brandeis to reach a wider audience.

Membership Benefits
We offer training, mentorship, pitch competitions, and commercialization assistance to the entire Brandeis community of students, faculty, and staff. By doing so, Brandeis Innovation is becoming a "collision" place for interdisciplinary research and entrepreneurial teams. We comprise two distinct, yet interlinked entities: The Office of Technology Licensing and the Virtual Incubator.

The Office of Study Abroad helps students live and learn in a new and different cultural context as part of their Brandeis education. The staff of the Office of Study Abroad assist students in accessing educational experiences that foster their development as global citizens through cultural, academic and linguistic immersion.

Aligned with the core Brandeis mission to center social justice, we strive to provide students with opportunities to learn about global inequality and structural social injustices to engage as active citizens in our multicultural world. We are committed to assisting any student with a desire to go abroad in finding an opportunity that aligns with their personal, professional and academic goals. We believe and actively promote the notion that a student's identity, financial background and/or academic discipline should not be a barrier to an educational experience abroad.

The Center for Spiritual Life offers a safe space for students to explore their spirituality and find their place in the world, on their terms.

Whether students are rooted in a particular faith tradition or searching for answers to fundamental human questions, we are here. We have staff chaplains trained in different faith traditions who help students find a supportive community, access a non-judgmental spiritual mentor, and find opportunities to serve others.

The Community Engagement Ambassadors strive to cultivate a connected, inclusive, and justice-oriented campus by collaborating with one another and with the Department of Student Engagement to support meaningful community engagement. Through peer-to-peer mentorship, intentional collaboration with service, activism, advocacy, social justice, and cultural organizations, and coordinated programming across campus, Ambassadors work to expand access to community service and civic engagement opportunities. Guided by a strong commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, we aim to ensure that all marginalized populations are represented and supported. By partnering with campus leaders, serving as a resource for students, and leading initiatives such as days of service, we strengthen the impact of community engagement and empower students to create positive, lasting change.

The Department of Orientation and First Year Experience (FYE) at Brandeis is responsible for the creation, planning, and implementation of New Student Orientation in August and January, as well as creating a robust calendar of programming for new students throughout their first year at Brandeis. The department collaborates with campus partners to co-host events that are geared towards new students. In addition, we promote existing campus events, opportunities and resources to students during their first year at Brandeis.

Our mission encompasses three areas:

1) Building Community: We build community among first-generation and/or low-income (FLI) students through social events, and among peers, faculty, staff, and alumni through mentorship opportunities.

2) Cultivating Pride, Awareness, and Change: We celebrate and cultivate a sense of pride in the FLI identities; spread awareness about Gen One at Brandeis; and advocate for policies and practices that support FLI students.

3) Sharing and Creating Knowledge & Resources: Through our events and outreach, we share resources and knowledge that help FLI students thrive at Brandeis. Being attentive to the interests and needs of our community, we also consider where new resources may be created.
