Join GirlUp Brandeis in conversation with Dr. Phoebe K. Schnitzer, a clinical psychologist and resident scholar from the Women’s Studies Research Center, for a dynamic discussion on overcoming the challenges involved in taking initiative—speaking up, speaking out, and taking constructive action.

Dr. Schnitzer will share her research on why women often hesitate to lead, as well as her latest findings on gender differences in leadership behaviors. Following this research overview, the emphasis will turn to the importance of your ideas. Participants will break into small groups to discuss real-world scenarios about hesitation and leadership, sharing insights and solutions. The session will conclude with a larger group discussion where highlights from each group will be shared. Dr. Schnitzer will summarize the key takeaways, reflecting on next steps for empowering women to take initiative in leadership roles.
