Adagio is the largest student-run dance group at Brandeis, open to students of ALL dance backgrounds and levels. We offer classes, as well as performance and choreography opportunities in styles include jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical and modern. Some performance opportunities include our annual Fall and Spring Shows. All of our dances are student choreographed! All of our performance opportunities are open to anyone who wants to take part. We do not hold auditions for dancers to be in Adagio shows, although we do hold placements. Everyone who desires to perform is placed in at least one dance!

The goal of Advocates for Health is to help connect Brandeis students with health-related volunteer opportunities in order to minimize healthcare disparities within the Greater Boston Community. Students can volunteer with CareOne–a skilled nursing facility in Newton–where they can support residents and improve the patient experience by planning activities and interacting directly with patients. Project Sunshine is another avenue to service in healthcare in which volunteers can create care packages and cards to send to children at local hospitals. They can also volunteer with Healthy Waltham, a local nonprofit, to improve food access to underserved populations in Waltham. Advocates for Health also offers volunteer opportunities with The Family Van, a mobile clinic that performs health screenings for underrepresented populations. As the program grows, we hope to engage more volunteers with healthcare-related services.

The Afternoon Enrichment program aims to encourage middle school students to develop strong relationships with their Brandeis mentors and with students from the other middle school in Waltham. Students are able to work on their social-emotional skills through consistent peer and mentor engagement. Afternoon Enrichment gives the students an insight into college life and shows that college is a possibility for them, as well. Our program prioritizes on meeting the social, emotional and educational needs of historically marginalized groups within the local school system while providing a safe space for students to learn and engage with one another.

We are Asian Baptist Student Koinonia, a Christian fellowship at Brandeis composed of students who seek to know and love Jesus Christ through a life shared with Him and each other. Through Bible studies, fun fellowship and activities, lots of food, and real friendships, we learn more about God, one another, and ourselves.

All are welcome to join us, whether you are looking for a spiritual home away from home or are wondering what this Christianity thing is all about. College is a busy place, and sometimes you might need somewhere to come as you are, find a listening ear and encouragement, be challenged, and discuss life's big questions.

The group is not limited to Asians, Baptists, or people who know what Koinonia means (but FYI, it means fellowship in Greek). Other Boston-area universities with ABSKs include Harvard, Wellesley, MIT, Boston University, and Boston College.

The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) is the largest U.S. professional association building Latino business leaders. The organization, however, is OPEN FOR ANY STUDENT to take benefit from its events and extensive network. Being a member allows you attend local and national ALPFA events and expand your opportunities through professional development programs, networking with top business leaders, scholarship programs, career fairs, social events, seminars, case competitions and more.

The Brandeis International Business School Chapter of ALPFA works to promote cultural awareness of Latin culture while offering a network for students regarding professional and academic opportunities in finance. It is the largest student chapter in the northeast region. The International Business School's group won the ALPFA Student Chapter of the Year Award at the 2012 National Convention. The business school's ALPFA chapter works closely with the Career Strategies Center, which helps its members become more aware of the career activities at the school.

The purpose of the Astronomy Club is to advance the awareness of the cosmos, optical observation of outer space, and collection of local weather data on the Brandeis campus. The club hosts group star and celestial gazing on telescopes, astronomy lectures, and astronomy related events associated with the Physics Department. We promote documentation of space through astrography using the 24” Cassegrain primary telescope and the 8” Celestron finderscope. The aim of the Astronomy Club is as a conduit for the Brandeis community’s maximal use of the observatory and telescope while maintaining the observatory and specialized equipment housed there.

The Big Siblings one-on-one mentoring program through Big Brother Big Sister of Massachusetts Bay is offered to children in first through fifth grade. Children are matched with a Brandeis student who shares common activities and quality time together ranging from playing sports, doing homework, or attending special events at Brandeis for a mutually decided time of one hour a week. This program has expanded to include a partnership with Sibling Connections, an organization that seeks to reunite biological siblings separated by the foster care system.

American Red Cross blood drives are held on campus annaully typically around the months of October, February, and April with assistance from student volunteers. Blood collected at these drives saves an average of 1,000 lives annually. Donors and volunteers are needed for the drives. Volunteers help advertise; recruit student, faculty and staff donors for the drives; and assist during the drives to ensure that they run safely.

Branda (the Club) exists for two purposes. The first is to develop and maintain Branda (the App), which provides essential services such as shuttle tracking, campus hours, and laundry tracking to the Brandeis community. This includes developing the App as well as the background services and systems necessary for the App’s functionality.
The second is to develop the skills and knowledge of the Club members. Branda uses a modern, industry-standard technology stack that provides real-world experience at every step of the development process not only to those with technical interest, but also those interested in marketing, business, and communication. Members of the Club have used this experience to earn internships at companies like IBM, Putnam Investments, and General Dynamics Mission Systems.

BASO seeks to culturally empower African students and the student body at large to become socially, politically, and critically aware of African Cultures. Our goal is to enter the complexities of Africa as a continent by looking at the diversity of each country and understanding these diversities through a sociopolitical and sociocultural lens.
Through the use of discussions among members, intercultural events, and interactive workshops, myths can be dispelled, and dynamic understandings will be revealed. Africa is not just Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Congo, Rwanda, Nigeria, or Mali; numerous countries constitute her very essence. Despite the overarching goal, even if this club leaves some with only a glimpse of Africa- the food, the music, a language-at least students will have gotten a salient and actual insight into a continent of many but a place of one.

The Brandeis Animajors Club For All (BACA) is a student run organization that operates with the intention of connecting the community of Anime enjoyers at Brandeis as well as introducing the genre of anime to all those who show interest. Anime is Japanese animation and is a genre that has found huge success and appreciation worldwide in the past decades. The purpose of BACA is to create a forum for shared appreciation and viewing of anime here in the Brandeis community that is open to all, and democratically run. BACA also aims to dispel the stigmas and negative connotations of people who watch anime through building a safe space for anime appreciation. The Brandeis Anime Club aims to build a stronger community at Brandeis University through a shared love of anime, culture, and film.

Established in 1971 at the onset of anti-Asian sentiment, the Brandeis Asian American Students Association (BAASA) felt the need to create a safe place for Asians and Asian Americans to freely voice their opinions and concerns. Though some of the same struggles exist today, the founding members laid the foundation for social and political activism for future generations.
As BAASA grows, we continue to promote activism and awareness to the Brandeis community and beyond. Our activities and programs are focused upon the involvement in Brandeis Academics, development of student leadership and collaborative efforts with other organizations. We seek to bridge and share our cultures with each other and the Brandeis community, and to educate others and ourselves about current issues dealing with race and politics. Through the implementation of our activities and programs, we uphold standards of the Brandeis community by promoting the universal acceptance and understanding of all peoples.

Aspiring Educators is a national organization that recruits and retains undergraduate students in education. At Brandeis, we continue promoting and encouraging interest in young adults interested in teaching. Brandeis's Aspiring Educators was created to reinforce the vision of creating and inspiring the next generation of teachers. We want to build support and community among those interested in the profession and those who have yet to find their inner teacher. This chapter will support current and prospective students pursuing teacher licensure at Brandeis. We will provide additional preparation for our members with professional development, community service events, and networking opportunities.

The purpose of the Brandeis Aviation Club is to introduce students to the excitement and joy of flying by providing students with the means to experience flight firsthand.

The Club intends to achieve its purpose via two primary methods, as well as any other methods deemed suitable for the purpose of the club and within the rules and regulations of Brandeis University. The two primary methods are as follows: organizing trips for students to take flight lessons with certified flight instructors at a flight school at a local airport; and through the operation of a flight simulator.

The Club intends to serve as a resource to any student who wishes to pursue an interest in aviation.

The primary goal of the Brandeis Badminton Club is to promote teamwork, social engagement, and physical activity. This club will be a low-intensity, noncompetitive sport to provide students with the opportunity to get in some easy exercise and learn a new athletic skill. Students will be paired into partners or groups and encouraged to effectively communicate and develop connections with their teammates to work together and hold strong. There will also be opportunities for club members to play solo matches to make some independent improvements or even play at a level of higher intensity if they feel confident in their abilities. Scores and game matches will not be held to high expectations or kept steady track of because the purpose of this club is not to compete and dominate other teams, but to bring together a group of students who share a common interest in badminton, and allow them to improve social, physical, and teamwork skills in a relaxing environment.

Brandeis Biochemistry Club’s goal is to promote undergraduate interest in biochemistry and the general sciences. We strive to provide opportunities for both students that are majoring in biochemistry and those with no prior experience. Athlete Ally’s mission is to educate and activate the Brandeis athletes and the entirety of the student body to eliminate homophobia and transphobia in sports and to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQI+ equality. Brandeis Chemistry Clubs' mission is to promote chemistry at Brandeis University through the various events we host throughout the course of the semester.

Our second goal is to promote inclusivity and to provide both guidance and assistance to undergraduates who are interested in getting involved with research or are thinking about pursuing a career involving chemistry. We recognize that students come from a variety of backgrounds and therefore may not be sure whether chemistry is for them. Moreover, some students may need help when it comes to reaching out to professors with regard to joining their lab, for example.

The goal of the Brandeis Chess Club, otherwise known as Deis Chess, is to give students an outlet to casually play chess on campus, have the option to expand their chess knowledge and be able to represent their university while participating in collegiate chess leagues. During club meetings, attendees will be provided with a chess set with which they will be able to both play and analyze their games with others. Members of the Executive Board, otherwise known as the E-Board members or officers, may facilitate large or small-group lessons. Deis Chess also serves as a platform for all chess-related activities on campus.

Brandeis Pilates Club’s goal is to improve the physical health and mental health of all the students at Brandeis. We welcome all students whether they have experience with pilates or not. We will tailor the class to our members capabilities, strengths, and areas of improvement. The beauty of pilates is that it is accessible and adjustable. Each pilates class focuses on the entire body. In one hour, we will train the core, upper body, and lower body. We will also work on enhancing flexibility and posture while emphasizing the importance of breathing. Joseph Pilates once described pilates as “the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit,” and we will teach our class how to integrate one’s body and mind in order to have a well-balanced life at Brandeis.

The Brandeis Rowing Team practices in the morning out of the Lasell Stoller Boathouse, located a five minute drive away from campus. The Novice program teaches first-time rowers the basics of the sport, while the Varsity program--for returning and experienced rowers--continues to focus on skills development and competitive race results. Both teams are composed of men's and women's squads. Practices take place Monday through Friday in the fall and spring, with races on the weekends. Winter training takes place indoors, typically on the rowing machines.

We work hand in hand with USCSA to provide weekend trip opportunities at the start of the Spring Semester to engage in high level skiing and sport. All are welcome to try and we are not exclusive, nor competitive in numbers. We ask that everyone contributes as positively as possible on and off of the slopes, and for all political matters to be handled away from organized events as it is NOT in our mission statement. Please know that the events could be overwhelming for some and that no one is obligated to feel on the same skiing level as others. Please be comfortable skiing alone on beginner if you’re considering joining the ski team. Statement: We are a ski team with the large focus on attending college club ski races on weekends during the winter months in the surrounding ski areas of the Northeast.

The Office of Study Abroad helps students live and learn in a new and different cultural context as part of their Brandeis education. The staff of the Office of Study Abroad assist students in accessing educational experiences that foster their development as global citizens through cultural, academic and linguistic immersion.

Aligned with the core Brandeis mission to center social justice, we strive to provide students with opportunities to learn about global inequality and structural social injustices to engage as active citizens in our multicultural world. We are committed to assisting any student with a desire to go abroad in finding an opportunity that aligns with their personal, professional and academic goals. Carceral Awareness, Reform, and Education (CARE) Club is a Brandeis University student organization that focuses on educating the student and Waltham community about the realities and impacts of the carceral system. We put on campus events, bring incarcerated voices to campus, and facilitate conversations around carceral literacy and political advocacy. As our organization grows, we hope to use our connections with the Brandeis Educational Justice Initiative (BEJI) to develop opportunities for Brandeis students to volunteer for and learn from Boston-based non-profits that serve incarcerated and formerly incarcerated populations.

Companions to Elders works to reduce social isolation in the older adult population of Waltham by pairing students with residents of local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other partners. Deis Robotics’s primary goal is to provide students with the opportunity to learn
about numerous aspects of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and
computer science in order to design and build fully operational machines. The
club seeks to unify the student body through their interest in technology by
hosting numerous events and competitions where members will have the
opportunity to learn about the manufacturing process of hardware, the creation of
