Mission

Students for Environmental Action is an organization that focuses on the environment and climate crisis. We aim to spread awareness about the climate crisis, facilitate change both on and off campus, and give Brandeis students the chance to reconnect with nature.

Vision

We aim to accomplish this mission by building social networks between students through events and facilitating environmental collaboration across clubs, campus organizations, and the Environmental Studies department.

Core Values

We value open discussion tailored towards students who are interested in environmental issues.

We value collaboration between club members and the Brandeis community, and aim to share relevant environmental resources.

We acknowledge the fact that climate change is real, that we are in a climate emergency, and we strive to address issues of environmental justice.

While recognizing the failings of mainstream environmentalism in acknowledging core issues regarding climate change, we value the intersectionality of the environmental movement.

Issues include environmental racism, environmental justice, and geo-political influence in environmentalism.

We embrace different perspectives of environmentalism and hope to foster a safe environment for discussion and learning surrounding these topics.

Club Status

Students for Environmental Action (SEA) has a long history at Brandeis. After 2020, when the club temporarily disbanded, we decided to revitalize the club in the Fall of 2022. SEA is now officially chartered as of October 1st 2023 after the probationary period in Spring 2023.
