Our primary telescope, a 24" cassegrain reflector, is housed inside the Abelson Observatory in the heart of campus. Custom built by the Tinsley Corporation in 1967, it remains one of largest telescopes in the Boston area.
Our largest refractor telescope, the Unitron Model 152 GRD is our largest refractor telescope at 4". Made in Japan in 1955, reflectors like this one are notable for producing crystal-clear images of stars.
Our Meade LX90 ACF 12" cassegrain telescope is portable and equipped with go-to technology, which allows us to find obscure celestial objects with the push of a button.
The Tasco 15 TEA is a small refractor telescope produced in Japan in 1962. This telescope is the most portable one in our collection at just 3".
